How to throw a grad-tastic graduation party

with Cold Stone Creamery®

Your grad has worked long and hard to finish all of their classes and now it’s time for everyone to party! Cement your grad’s place in school history with these tips on how to throw the ultimate graduation party!

  • 1.    Pick a theme: Obviously the main theme is graduation, but make the festivities extra fun by choosing a theme that is too cool for school. Is it a high school graduation party and the grad is going out of state for college? Make the graduation party’s theme the college’s home state (think a Texas backyard BBQ, New York City posh or California beachy). Is your grad leaving middle school and moving on to high school? Incorporate the high school’s mascot into the theme – it will be a roaring good time (Go Lions!)
  • 2.    Decorate: Once you’ve established a theme, as the pros would say, “You have to create ambiance.” Or in layman’s terms: make the place pretty! The party will be anything but lame when you play up the theme and add in elements that tie the whole celebrate together. May we suggest our fabulously fun and festive graduation printables for banners and cupcake toppers? Find them here: PRINTABLES.
  • 3.    Get the party started: Keep the party moving and grooving to a party playlist. Keep the music in theme, hello High School Musical songs (and possible choreographed dance moves that you tried to forget), or just include the hits. On our list: Don’t Stop Believe by Journey!
  • 4.    Feed the people: Food can either make or break a party. Keep it cool and custom by ordering a Graduation themed Ice Cream Cake.® Or make sure your grad is the coolest kid in class by having a Build Your Own Sundae Bar. Either way, it’s a sweet ending to a new beginning!
  • 5.    Make it memorable: Parties fly by, but memories last forever! Make the party memorable by setting up a photo booth with snaps way cuter than those awkward yearbook photos. Plus the grad can use the photos to decorate their locker or their future dorm room.

With all of these ideas, you’ll definitely ace throwing a graduation party!
